Dr Las Aiyathurai

The Partners are very sorry to announce that Dr Las has had to leave Memorial Medical Centre due to unforseen personal reasons.

All the Partners are very sorry to see him go and wish him all the best for the future.

Dr Las has also asked us to pass on his very best wishes to all of the Staff and Patients at Memorial Medical Centre, and he would like it to be known how much he has enjoyed working with everyone.

Dr Ingram

The Partners are pleased to announce that Dr Ingram is to become a Partner with effect from 1st April 2018.

Dr Venkat

Dr Venkat will be leaving our Practice on Tuesday 13th March 2018. She has been a valuable member of our team since 2015 and will be sorely missed by Staff and Patients, and we wish her luck and happiness in her future ventures.

2pm Appointments

Patients are unable to book an appointment by attending the surgery in person at 2 pm, when appointments for the following day are released. Appointments will only be available to be booked by telephone or online. Online access is very popular with most of our Patients as it avoids the frustration of calling our very busy phone lines. If you are not already set up for online access, please pick up a form from our reception desk. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

FLU Vaccine

The injected flu vaccine is offered free of charge on the NHS to over 65s and people who are at risk.  Please see under our 'Further Information' section for more information.

Audiology Service

The Memorial Medical Centre provides an in-house audiology service for people registered in the Swale area who are aged 50 years and over.  Clinics are held during the week and on two Saturday mornings per month.  New patients by referral only from their GP.

Online Services

We are changing the way we do our Online services. After 31st August 2017 our patients will be able to get repeat prescriptions online by using the Patient Access website. Please see Online Services for details on how to register. Patients can still drop their prescription requests in at the Surgery Reception.

NHS Prescription Ordering Direct

From 18th April 2017 repeat prescription requests will be processed by the NHS Prescription Ordering Direct Service and the Practice will no longer take requests from your pharmacy.  Please phone 0300 131 1100 to order your medicines.  A prescription will be sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.  This is a pilot service for 12 months.

Following Government advice we no longer routinely prescribe antibiotics if they won't help. Please see Further Information (No. 2).

Welcome to  Memorial  Medical  Centre

Memorial Medical Centre is a five Partner Practice (four GPs and a Nurse Practitioner) based in Sittingbourne Kent. Our aim is to provide care to the whole person whatever the nature of their medical problem.

Opened in 1995, the Practice strives to offer all its patients up-to-date care without losing sight of the traditional perspective. We serve more than 16,000 patients with quality care.

We are also a Training Practice helping young medical professionals launch their careers.

The purpose built surgery is located within the grounds of Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital, adjacent to the Memorial Pharmacy, providing our patients with excellent access to a full range of community services.

The premises are suitable for disabled and/or wheelchair patients and has baby changing facilities.

All patients with the Practice are allocated a named GP and you can check who your named GP is anytime you contact the surgery. You are encouraged to see this GP for every consultation unless they are not available for appointment bookings at that time.

New patients are informed of their named GP when attending for a new patient health check.

CQC rated us as Good following a visit in January 2017.
