DOCTOR – A doctor is someone who is experienced and certified to practice medicine to help maintain or restore physical and mental health. A doctor is tasked with interacting with patients, diagnosing medical problems and successfully treating illness or injury
PARAMEDIC PRACTITIONER – Provide direct and/or indirect patient care oriented toward improving or maintaining health and preventing illness. Perform physical examinations and/or preventive health measures to assess and evaluate patient’s clinical problems and health care needs.
CLINICAL PHARMACIST – Clinical pharmacists work as part of the general practice team to improve value and outcomes from medicines and consult with and treat patients directly. This includes providing extra help to manage long-term conditions, advice for those on multiple medicines and better access to health checks
ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER (ANP) – What is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)? Advanced Nursing Practitioners (ANP) are nurses who have undertaken a master’s level in clinical practice. ANPs have authority in patient diagnosis and are trusted to independently assess, diagnose, manage and care for patients with complex clinical issues.
ADVANCED CARE PRACTITIONER (ACP) – ACPs can lead teams managing medical emergencies and major trauma, teach advanced skills and healthcare theory to professionals from all healthcare backgrounds, perform and interpret advanced diagnostics, and constantly drive positive change.
NURSE – Nurses work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients with illnesses. When treating a patient, they observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress. Nurses work alongside doctors when it comes to treatment plans and exams, administering medications, and monitoring patient recovery.
HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT (HCA) – Duties typically performed by healthcare assistants include supporting patients with personal care, communicating with patients, monitoring and taking observations and assisting patients with their daily activities. In addition to traditional tasks, such as assisting patients with activities of daily living, many HCAs take observations, carry out ECGs, test urine and blood glucose, and even perform more invasive procedures such as taking blood, giving flu vaccines and dressing wounds.
