What does Anima do?

Anima is a communication platform that allows you to seek care from your GP practice. When you have an issue that you want to contact your GP about, 
you can use Anima to submit your request online.

What about my data?

Anima is approved by the NHS, and we work with your GP practice or healthcare provider in order to enable them to provide you with care. We sign specific 
agreements to let us do this, and only collect the data that we need in order to make this happen.

What does it cost?

Nothing! Anima is absolutely free for patients to use: all you need to sign up is access to a phone or computer, an email address and mobile phone number. 
If you don’t have any of these, your practice can even submit requests on your behalf.

How do I use it?

You will be asked to submit your name, date of birth, postcode and telephone number. You can then fill in a questionnaire about your query. 
The more information you give us, the better we will be able to help you.

If you are contacting us about any of the following queries, please select the Admin option:
  • A doctor's letter
  • A fit (sick) note
  • A referral follow up
  • Test results
  • Any other type of admin query

What happens next?

Our clinical team reviews all the requests submitted and they are prioritised according to clinical need. You may be offered an appointment, asked for 
more information, given a prescription or directed to either a member of our team or another source of help and advice.

We will contact you by phone, text or email with the next steps.

How do I use Anima and what happens after I submit the form?

It has enhanced integration with our systems and is constantly reviewed and developed.

Anima is to be used for routine and non-urgent medical and administrative issues only. If you have an emergency or urgent issue, please contact 999 or 111 
– do not use Anima.

Your request will be prioritised according to clinical need.

Can I use Anima to request an appointment?

No. Anima allows us to gauge your case and deal with routine issues. If, after reviewing your case, you need a face-to-face appointment, you will be 
offered one.

I have submitted a request, and I haven’t been contacted yet, do I need to do anything?

No. If you've submitted a request and haven't been contacted, please wait. We will contact you by email, Anima account, or by phone. Please do not submit 
multiple requests about the same issue.

Can I request a repeat prescription?

Yes you can order prescriptions through Anima. You can also use the NHS App. It's easy—simply log in, click on 'Order A Repeat Prescription,' and select 
the items you need.

What about my data?

Anima is approved by the NHS. Your data is securely stored and shared exclusively with us to support your direct care.
