COVID-19 Info

Covid-19 vaccinations will be provided through a range of local NHS services. The vaccines will be available to everyone over 18 years old. People will be invited for vaccination based on a nationally set priority list. We are currently booking group 10, which is everyone over 40, however there are delays while we try to prioritise 2nd vaccines for vulnerable groups.

We are currently providing vaccines at the local hub at Age UK in the Avenue of Remembrance with other local practices.

All appointments are now booked via AccuBook and eligible patients will receive a text when it is time to book their vaccination. Those without mobiles will be contacted via telephone. If you have received a link but there are no appointments available to book, please keep checking and do not phone the surgery, as we won’t be able to book you in until appointments become available.

Our phone lines are very busy and we would appreciate your support to keep phone lines open for people needing to make appointments for other health matters.

The vaccination programme will take several months to work through everyone, so it could be some time before you are contacted.

Please help protect yourself, friends and loved ones by getting vaccinated when you are invited.

Scam alert (30/12/20)

We are aware some people are receiving fraudulent emails, calls and text messages offering the Covid-19 vaccination. In some cases, people are asked to follow a link to book, press a number on their keypad or to send a text message to confirm they wish to receive the vaccine. Doing so is likely to result in a charge being applied. In other cases, callers are offering the vaccine for a fee or asking for bank details.

Please be alert to these scams.

The vaccine is only available from the NHS and the NHS will contact you when it is your turn.

The NHS will:

  • NEVER ask you to press a button on your keypad to confirm you want a vaccine.
  • NEVER ask for payment for the vaccine or for your bank details.

If you receive a call you believe to be fraudulent, hang up. If you believe you have been the victim of fraud or identity theft you should report this directly to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. Where the victim is vulnerable, report it to Kent Police online or phone 101.
