From 1st October 2025, NHS England requires GP practices to offer online consultation tools for routine, non-urgent requests for appointments, medication, and administration during core hours. This will be subject to necessary safeguards in place to avoid urgent clinical requests erroneously submitted online. Patients unable to use online tools can still call the surgery or visit in person, where reception staff will help complete the online form on their behalf.
